CIVIL RIGHTS FOR PEOPLE

The name Sepharad means "Hispania", Iberian Peninsula, Portugal and Spain.

Portuguese Citizenship for Sephardic Jews

An new amendment to the Portuguese Regulation on Citizenship (Regulamento da Nacionalidade Portuguesa) establishes the requirements for the descendants of Sephardic Jews of Portuguese origin to obtain Portuguese citizenship and describes the documents needed for the application for Portuguese citizenship.

Considering this historical heritage, the Portuguese Citizenship Act (Lei da Nacionalidade) was amended back in 2013 as to facilitate the acquisition of Portuguese citizenship by the descendants of Portugal's Sephardic Jews.

Spanish Citizenship for Sephardic Jews

The term Sephardi applies to those Jews who lived in the Iberian Peninsula until 1492 and to their descendants.
The Spanish Law 12/2015, Jun 24, is open to guarantee the Spanish citizenship to Jewish and non-Jewish people of Sephardic origin, provided that they can prove their Sephardic origin and a special link to Spain.

There is plenty of Portugal spread all over the world.

We represent people who have been born abroad or are descendants of Portuguese Citizens. But we also represent people who ever had a territorial link with Portugal, including those affected by the independence of the overseas territories born in the ancient state of India and Macau.

Our team has extensive experience in Portuguese Nationality Law and the civil acts that follow it, such as transcription of marriage, death, and review of the foreign divorce by Portuguese court.
